Happy New Year!
Well, we've all made it and got another year under our collective belts. Being in band is very rewarding, but never easy! The past year we've had some great successes: like playing our first festival in the UK, releasing our second album, and working the eastern canadian showcase circuit. Buuut, our original drummer Andrew McCarthy moved away, and our subsequent-presumed-forever-drummer Ash Chalmers had to back out of the band to be with his family. Understandable, of course, but very frustrating, as you can imagine.
This is a new year, however! We've got a couple of very talented drummers in the running to be "the one", and just got our tickets and air bnb booked for our showcases @ Folk Alliance International 2018! This will be our first time playing in the US and we're stoked to performing at such a respected conference (with our drummer Andrew, no less). Can't wait to check out Kansas City, MO. Huge thanks to FACTOR and ArtsNL for the financial support - we couldn't do this without you!
Our manager Mary Beth Waldram has been busy grant writing, booking tickets, and getting our merch up to date on the website: make sure you check our bandcamp for shirts, pins, vinyl, and CDs! We missed the Christmas rush, but good band merch is timeless, right? Good gifts for any time of year ;)
While we are figuring out our local drummer situ, we don't have much on the books for St. John's, but we had a couple of rockin shows in the past 6 weeks. Here are some pics from our Ship show by the tireless Chris Deacon - stay tuned for spring and summer show announcements.
Happy New Year!
